History

1977 The International Cooperation Service Center (ICSC) is established with permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
1978 Started Japanese language courses for JICA participants in technical training
1983 Started JICA commissioned training programs
1984 Started JICA commissioned Youth Invitation Programs
1988 Started training management and coordination for JICA participants
1989 With the establishment of the Japan International Cooperation System (JICS), grant aid-related business was transferred to JICS
1991 Started JICA commissioned Expert Dispatch Operations
1993 Corporate name changed to Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE)
1994 Awarded the Minister of Foreign Affairs Commendation
Contracted by UNESCO for the Conservation and Restoration Project of the Angkor monuments in Cambodia
1995 Contracted by UNHCR to operate refugee shelter facilities for the Croatian Refugee Shelter Construction Project
2000 Started accepting JICA’s long-term training participants .
Started grant aid projects for international students (currently the Japan Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)) under contract with JICA
2007 Started short-term invitation programs for the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths in the 21st Century (JENESYS) under contract with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
2008 "Saudi Japan Advanced Institute of Automotive Technology (SJAHI) Support Project" started under the commission of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)
2009 "Employment Preparation Training Program for Japanese Americans" commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW)
2011 JICA commissioned "Afghanistan Partnership for Afghanistan and Afghanistan Core Human Resources Development (PEACE) Project" started
2013 Transitioned to a general incorporated foundation (domestic offices: Head Office, 5 branches)
2014 JICA commissioned "Industrial Human Resources Development Initiative for African Youth (ABE Initiative)" started
2015 Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare' commissioned "Training Program to Support the Employment and Settlement of Foreigners in Japan" started
2023 Chugoku Branch Office was established
